Unveiling the lesser-known facets of Ajay Devgn’s life

Ajay Devgn hails from a Punjabi Hindu family originally from Amritsar, Punjab, with deep-rooted connections to the Hindi film industry in Mumbai. His father, Veeru Devgan, was a renowned stunt choreographer and action-film director, while his mother, Veena, is a film producer. Additionally, his cousin, Anil Devgan, is an accomplished filmmaker and screenwriter. Devgn completed his education at the Silver Beach High School in Juhu and later pursued studies at Mithibai College.

Devgn’s romantic journey in the film industry began with a relationship with actress Karisma Kapoor during the filming of Jigar (1992). However, their romance concluded in 1995. That same year marked the beginning of Devgn’s relationship with actress Kajol, which blossomed while they were working together in Gundaraj (1995). The media often referred to them as an “unlikely pair” due to their contrasting personalities. On 24 February 1999, the couple tied the knot in a traditional Maharashtrian Hindu ceremony at the Devgan residence. They are blessed with two children: a daughter named Nysa, born in 2003, and a son named Yug, born in 2010. Devgn and Kajol took the precaution of storing their son’s umbilical cord blood and tissues for potential stem cell use in the event of a serious illness.

In August 2009, Devgn made a slight alteration to the spelling of his surname, changing it from Devgan to Devgn, a decision influenced by his family’s wishes. He practices Shaiva Hinduism and is often seen wearing a Rudraksha bead, which holds significance in his religious beliefs. This spiritual element, among other religious themes, is also featured in his films. Notably, Devgn made history as the first Bollywood personality to own a private jet, which he uses for travel to shooting locations, promotional events, and personal trips.
